Re: Hows the translation progess
Also once this one is done will you be doing the other 2 or moving on to the newer ones? The new ones have better game play/graphics right?
could you do one of the newer ones like X-BLOOD or Students of the Round?

Re: Hows the translation progess
The wait is killing me! I played the beginning of the demo and really enjoyed it, but don't want to get too far in it cause the save doesn't carry over. I picked up Etrian Odyssey and Unchained Blades to hold me over, but I'm way more excited to finally play Code Hazard in english.

Re: Hows the translation progess
I'm sorry to make you guys wait, but this
has significantly reduced my motivation, on top of which trying to get an official business proposal written up for EXP might take a while.
If you're exceptionally motivated, the website for EXP's contact information is here:
http://www.exp-inc.jp/web0904/modules/ccenter/index.php?form=7
The fields respectively are name, mail address, confirm mail address, product name (in this case Xth/Code Hazard) and query field.

Re: Hows the translation progess
I haven't been following this project extremely closely, so I might be misunderstanding you, but you're trying to get them to license your translation? Since your translation is essentially 100% complete, maybe you'll get different treatment? There's a difference between coming to them saying "I can translate your game" and saying "I have a translation for your game".
If going to them directly doesn't work, I can only assume it's because they just aren't interested in being responsible for publishing the game in english. In that case, you should try contacting Xseed. Because they're a publisher and localization house, they have more connections and clout than a single localization team. They had a similar deal for Ys Oath in Felghana, where they licensed the fan-translation and snagged the US/EU publishing rights, and used both of those to put the game on the PSP/PC through Steam. I also think because of their connections with Steam and the size of their studio, they don't need to go through the greenlight process to get their game on steam which smaller indie localization/publishers like Carpe Fulgur do.
So don't give up hope yet! I think your chances of making this an official loc are good!

Re: Hows the translation progess
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I still have to do it all official-like. The proposal will detail everything in its necessary exactness.
As for xseed, I applied, but they already filled their only open position. Again, sorry for the unnecessary wait, but I'm trying to do this right.

- Spoiler:
- If it doesn't go through, expect an as-legal-as-possible patch.
Re: Hows the translation progess
You mean you applied for a translation job? I meant asking them if they want to license your translation to publish the game in the US. So if the business plan to EXP falls through, send an email to XSEED telling them that you've got a complete translation to the game but EXP were uninteresting in publishing their game in the US(I think business at marvelous-usa.com would be the place to contact. I think marvelous usa might just handle mobile games, but they'll be able to put you in touch with their counterparts at XSEED), and ask them if they'd be interested in acquiring the publishing rights and putting the game on Steam. If they're interested, they'll contact EXP and probably have better negotiations than a smaller translation team would. Then they can say "Well, it will cost us X amount to license the translation, Y amount for the publishing rights, so if we put this on Steam and make Z amount we'll make a profit on a game that our team spent 0 time working on". That's a very good situation for them to be in, so as long as EXP doesn't ask for some crazy contract that XSEED doesn't think they'll ever make money back on, I don't see why they wouldn't be interested.
The only reason I could see them turning you down would be if they dismissed the game for appealing to a niche audience, but because XSEED almost exclusively publishes niche titles I don't see them having that type of thought process.

Re: Hows the translation progess
So... you were trying to make money off this or something?
Since it didn't go as you planned and since you did a 100% patch anyway.. will you be releasing it?

Any kind of timeframe as to when we can expect the patch/release? A month? Sometime in 2012?

Nope, sorry.
Slaving away at min wage job to pay rent, don't have a ton of time to do edits and things, but esper is working on fixing the remaining bugs, so there is that

Re: Hows the translation progess
If you still alive, please, release 99% translation if you can't continue your work. This is taking very long. Many of us bought the game only for this translation. It is easier for people to complete game in japanese already than wait for english patch.

The installer is "almost done" :p
Its not like it's been a decade, guys. It's barely been 8 months since its been announced

just a thought
Shram started this translation project and:
In response to an earlier poster: If anyone bought the game for the translation, that's your choice. Don't blame others for your choice, don't resent others for your choice.
I feel like I need to emphasize:
Shram is solely working on translating an obscure game trilogy FREE OF CHARGE.
Do you see Team Muramasa/EXP even SELLING a translation? No.
Well all want to play the game. We all know it's taken a while. And hopefully we all know that in life, complications may arise in which we may not get what we want, when we want it, or even at all.
- Never charged a thing for his/her efforts to translate the game.
- Put forth the effort to communicate with Team Muramasa about the project.
- Has a life and is working a job while developing this project.
- Has asked for nothing but patience.

Slowly but surely eliminating final bugs and touch-ups. Halloween probably not, but if its not out by Christmas then I'm just dumb.
